The Flat Iron,   April 1998

The journey to the top of the Flat Iron begins at the Siphon Draw trailhead in Lost Dutchman State Park, near Apache Junction.   The trail is short but demanding, with 2800' of elevation gain in 3 miles. The upper 1.5 miles consists of scrambling up a steep, boulder-choked ravine.
